I've been an avid Rakuten user since 2012 and recently I had something happen that had never happened before.
I never got credit for my cash back!
That's right, I had missing cash back from Rakuten.
In this post, I'll share with you how I was able to quickly and easily remedy my missing cash back issue and get the credit I was due.
Double Checking Rakuten Shopping Trips For Missing Cash Back
A few days after making a purchase using Rakuten, I like to double check that my cash back is showing up in my account.
To do this, I go to the Shopping Trips section of my account.
From here, you'll see all of the shopping trips that have been tracked in the current month.
You can see from my history, I went back/forth on my LensDirect purchase lol.
I kept coming back to the site and leaving. Each time, I made sure I was tracking with Rakuten though!
When I finally made the purchase on 4/6 the credit didn't show up like I expected.
After 5 days, I opened a ‘missing cash back' claim with Rakuten to let them know I had made the purchase, but I wasn't seeing any cash back in my account for the order.
Opening A Claim With Rakuten For Missing Cash Back
If you find that you are missing cash-back from an order you made through Rakuten, they make it really easy to get help and get your credit.
To start the process, head to Rakuten's help center and click on ‘Missing Cash Back'.
There is a form to fill out and the first thing you have to do is let Rakuten know what store it is that you made a purchase from, that has missing cash back.
Once you choose the store, you will add the following information as well:
- Date of purchase
- If the purchase was online or in store
- Order Number
- Order Total
- Copy/Paste the receipt/order information from your confirmation
As you can see, I have filled in the form for my missing LensDirect order.
As soon as I hit the ‘Find My Cash Back' button, the missing $17.17 was added to my Rakuten account!
And we can see the credit has been added to my Cash Back Balance as well.
